The Mire Hag is worshipped in peat-farming communities. It seems to be a licensed faith.

- The folks celebrate with a maypole in the centre of their village, topped with the icon of a "thick, waddling mass, its peat-skin carving off into ribbons".[1]
- Their high priests wear thick robes cowled with sheets of turf.[1]
- The church contains sacred texts and stained glass windows.
Saints[]
- Transformation - can occur relatively quickly, taking only a few minutes in a private room. The resulting "Peat-Saint" grows taller, larger and stronger than the sacrifice, capable of destroying a door. Its skin darkens and becomes peat, and its veins bulge with blood that becomes "rancid sphagnum moss pulsing about his bulging arms". The face remains human and visible, but the sacrifice loses control and becomes violent and animalistic.
- Abilities - Sheds dirt, peat and moss from its body. Can send out flows of molten peat flows, which oozes over services slowly but can severely burn those who touch it, and transform them into desiccated corpses, becoming wrinkled and tanned.
- Weakness - The Peat-Saint is weak against an attack by fire.
Notable Events[]
- When Gage, Mercer and Sergeant Kipuros attack the inhabitants of a village who worships The Mire Hag, the high priest transforms himself into a fearsome saint in retaliation.[1]
